help poor

Everyone is familiar with the saying “it is better to give than receive,” but few understand the meaning behind this powerful principle.
Why is it better to give than it is to receive? The more you give, the more you receive. Success and living life abundantly are rewards granted to unconditional givers.

An unconditional giver is someone who gives from the heart because they want to, not because they have to, or because they feel obligated to do so.

When people think of giving they often think money. You do not have to give money to be an unconditional giver.

When you give of your time, energy, resources, knowledge, skills, and/or talents, with no strings attached, you instantaneously set the Law of Giving and Receiving in motion. You become a magnet, attracting success and abundance.

The universal Law of Giving and Receiving is both spiritual and scientific.

The Spiritual basis of The Law of Giving and Receiving:
Whatever you sow (meaning whatever you plant, disseminate, scatter, disperse, or put out), you will also reap (meaning you will also receive, gain, harvest, accumulate, or get back). —Galatians 6:7

The Scientific basis of The Law of Giving and Receiving:
For every action (meaning for everything you do, every act, effort, or transaction), there will always be an equal or even opposite reaction (meaning there will be consequences and/or repercussions). —Isaac Newton’s Law of Motion.

Reasons People Resist Giving:
People often decide not to give because they think they do not have enough to give. They think that if they give, they will have nothing left. This type of thinking comes from limited thinking and perceptions of lack and scarcity.

From a spiritual perspective, if you do not sow, you will not reap. How can you receive anything, if you never give anything?

From the scientific perspective, if you do nothing, nothing will happen. You must take action for something to occur.

The person that decides not to give for fear of lack or fear of loss, will never gain or grow, but will always remain stagnate, keeping only what they already have and never realizing anything more.

There are those that give a little because they fear if they give too much there won’t be enough left. Again, this comes from limited thinking and perceptions of lack and scarcity. The person that gives a little will only receive a little.

Some people understand the basic principle of giving and receiving and simply give to get. This is a perversion of the Law of Giving and Receiving. An unselfish regard for the well being of others is the only motivation behind the actions of unconditional givers.

Your motives and intentions for giving must be pure. If your reasons for giving are for selfish gain, you will most certainly learn the hard way that just as you cannot defy the laws of gravity, you also cannot defy the Law of Giving and Receiving. If your giving is tainted, what you receive will also be tainted.

Change Your Thinking to Change Your Life:
We live in a world where there is more than enough for everybody. Despite what we have been taught or conditioned to believe, we truly live in a world of abundance and infinite possibilities. The only limitations that exist, are the limitations you place on yourself as a result of limited thinking.

“As a man thinketh, so is he.” —Proverbs 23:7

Let today be the day that you let go of thinking that there isn’t enough. How can you live life abundantly if you hold on to the notion that there isn’t enough? What is the opposite of lack? ABUNDANCE! Living life abundantly means knowing and believing that you have and will always have more than enough of everything you need to live a happy and fulfilling life.

Let today be the day that you let go of the “dog-eat-dog” mentality, even the so-called boot strappers received a helping hand from someone at some point. We were never meant to go at life alone, helping each other along the way makes life easier. Caring about the welfare of more than just self gives life meaning. Making a difference in someone else’s life gives life purpose. Giving our best is a gift that keeps on giving.

Let today be the day that you change your thinking by transforming your thoughts and renewing your mind.

Start Giving From the Heart:

When you implement the Law of Giving and Receiving in your daily life, you immediately experience a liberating awareness of abundance. You realize that you can give freely without fear of ever over extending yourself or experiencing lack and scarcity.

Your spirit makes the connection that the same Higher Power that created you, also created everyone else, and we are all therefore connected. This awareness changes how you deal with people. You begin seeing yourself in others. More importantly, you recognize what it truly means to Love others as you Love yourself.

I know it may seem like a strange concept but the more you see yourself in others and the more you relate to others, the less self-absorbed you become. You become more sensitive and responsive to the needs of others, this is what enables you to give from the heart.

Giving from the heart sets off a chain reaction of events including inspiring others to give also (similar to the Pay It Forward concept), which ultimately creates a circle of giving. What goes around in a circle comes back around.

Unconditional givers always receive an overwhelming response of unexpected help, blessings, and support, seemingly out of nowhere and often without even asking. No matter how bleak a situation may look for an unconditional giver, everything always works out and falls right into place at just the right time for unconditional givers.

Those that give willingly from the heart always get back what they have given a thousand fold.

When you give from the heart “it is given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over (abundance) shall men (people/mankind) give into your bosom. For with the same measure that you mete (whatever amount you give) so shall it be measured to you again (the same you will receive). —Luke 6:38

Giving Produces Spiritual and Personal Growth:
This simple act of giving increases faith and trust in the Creator of all life. As blessings and miracles unfold before your eyes (and they will), you become increasingly aware that a Higher Power is at work beyond your own understanding.

The more you give, the more you will experience joy, love, inner peace, prosperity, and a sense of accomplishment (success). Giving leads to the road of living life more abundantly.

I guess this sheds a new light on the phrase “to whom much is given, much is required.”
